Don’t get confused between SVCHOST.EXE and SVSHOST.EXE

The two file name svchost.exe and svshost.exe are very similar in spelling and look but one of them is a windows default file while other is a dangerous virus.

svchost is a system process belonging to the Microsoft Windows Operating System which handles processes executed from DLLs. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your windows OS and should not be terminated.

While svshost.exe is a virus which is registered as Worm.P2P.Spybot.gen virus. This is actually a Trojan and a high security risk. This should be removed immediately from the system. Please see additional details regarding this process.

If you see any unknown files running, simple do a Google or Live.com search to find more information about that file. Like if you have installed Spybot's search and destroy, you can find teatimer file running. Don’t delete or stop any unknown files, as they may can be useful. I have already mentioned this in my article Don't Delete Process Files.
