Google starts SMS Channels for India

Google in India launched a new Labs service called Google SMS Channels in India. The service “lets you subscribe to news alerts, blog updates and other kinds of information like horoscopes, jokes, stocks or even cricket scores via SMS text messages,” adding that Google SMS Channels are “free both for content publishers as well as mobile phone users who subscribe to text updates via SMS.”

Visit Google SMS Channels. Login using your any Google account. Now you will reach the first page of Google India SMS channel.

Enter your Nick name and mobile number. You don't need to add "0" or "91" or "+91" in mobile number. Simply put the ten digit mobile number like 9868000000
You will receive a SMS with Google SMS channel verification code on your mobile phone. Enter that code on the verification page.
