Computer always need to upgrade with time, and most important part to upgrade is RAM. Yes, we always want to add another chip of RAM. But we are confused about the new RAM. People generally think that new RAM should also be of same company, but this is not true.
You can add another RAM chip of different brand.
You need to take care of these points while buying new RAM chip to add with your old RAM chip.
- Type of RAM. Both new and old RAM should be of same type say DDR or DDR2 or so.
- Prefer to buy same frequency RAM as of your old RAM.
- Maximum memory supported by your motherboard. If your motherboard support maximum of 2GB RAM, than you can't add more than total of 2 GB RAM.
