Yes, you can use SATA2 hard disk on a SATA1 supported motherboard. Configuration is same as SATA1 hard disk. There is no need of any special wire to use SATA2 hard disk on a SATA1 supported hard disk.No jumper setting is required.

 

But the SATA2 hard disk will work on SATA1 hard disk speed.It wont work at SATA2 speed.
